The stairway having 19 risers.

Departure from Deemed-to-Satisfy Provisions

A stairway flight must have a maximum of 18 risers. However, in this case there will be an extra riser, resulting in a stairway with 19 risers.

The Performance Solution

While the solution accepts the stairway design, the stairway will be upgraded to comply with AS 1428.1 in all aspects, including two handrails, TGSIs, and contrasting nosing strips. Lighting will also be improved.
