Identified Design Issue

A lift will not be installed in a building with an upper floor over 200m².

Departure from Deemed-to-Satisfy Provisions

For buildings with two or three storeys, lift access is required if any additional storey above the entrance level has a floor area exceeding 200m². However, in this case, a lift
will not be installed.

The Performance Solution

Representative areas such as offices and meeting rooms will be provided on the entrance level. The solution accounts for the upper floor being primarily used for storage, which may qualify as an exempt area under BCA Clause D4D5.
