Identified Design Issue

The accessible car parking design differs from the requirements of AS/NZS 2690.6.

Departure from Deemed-to-Satisfy Provisions

Due to the existing column on the car parking level, the accessible parking space will not meet the AS/NZS 2890.6 requirements, with a space measuring 4800mm wide x 5400mm long (overall, including the 2400mm wide x 5400mm long shared area).

The Performance Solution

The existing column in the corner of the shared area will be accepted, as it is outside the manoeuvring area, and the design will still comply with all other aspects of AS/NZS 2690.6, including the symbol, sign, linemarking and bollard.
